How to Apply
Check Eligibility and Vertical
onlineVisit pmay-urban.gov.in → "About" → understand 4 verticals. For home loan buyers: CLSS (Credit Linked Subsidy). For slum dwellers: ISSR (In-Situ Slum Redevelopment). For EWS/LIG without land: BLC or AHP. Identify which vertical fits your situation.
Apply via Bank (for CLSS)
offlineIf applying for a home loan with interest subsidy (CLSS): approach any Primary Lending Institution (PLI) — SBI, HDFC, Axis, etc. → ask for PMAY-CLSS → submit Aadhaar, income proof, home purchase agreement → bank verifies and applies for subsidy on your behalf through NHB/HUDCO.
Apply via Urban Local Body (for BLC/AHP)
offlineIf applying for direct construction assistance: approach your nearest Urban Local Body (Municipal Corporation) or State Housing Board → fill the PMAY application form → submit Aadhaar, income certificate, and land/property documents → municipality verifies and forwards to state government for approval.
Check Beneficiary Status
onlineGo to pmaymis.gov.in → "Citizen Assessment" → "Search Beneficiary Status" → enter your Aadhaar or Assessment ID → check if your application is approved or pending. Applications submitted through banks are tracked separately on the NHB/HUDCO portals.
Receive Subsidy
offlineFor CLSS: After bank verification and NHB/HUDCO approval (usually within 30–60 days), the interest subsidy (NPV: ₹2–6 lakh) is credited as an upfront reduction in your outstanding loan principal. Future EMIs reduce automatically. For BLC/AHP: construction grant is released in 3–4 tranches tied to construction milestones.
