How to Apply

1

Register at Gram Panchayat

Visit your local Gram Panchayat office and fill the MGNREGA registration form. Provide Aadhaar card, a family photo, and proof of residence. The Panchayat will issue a Job Card within 15 days — this is your proof of registration.

2

Submit Demand for Work

online / offline

Once you have a Job Card, submit a written application to the Gram Panchayat or online at nrega.nic.in requesting work. Work must be provided within 15 days of your demand; if not, you are entitled to an Unemployment Allowance.

3

Attend Worksite

offline

Report to the assigned worksite (typically within 5 km of your village). Attendance is recorded via the NREGASoft app or muster rolls. Work is typically infrastructure projects — roads, ponds, plantations, or irrigation.

4

online

Wages are calculated based on the state's notified wage rate and paid directly into your Aadhaar-linked bank or post office account within 15 days of the muster roll submission. Check payments at nrega.nic.in → Job Card → Payment Details.

5

File Grievance if Delayed
