How to Apply

Register on NSP Portal

Go to scholarships.gov.in → click "New Registration" → select your domicile state and student type (fresh/renewal) → fill in your name, date of birth, mobile number, email, and bank account details → verify with OTP → save your Application ID and password.

Complete Your Profile

Log in with your Application ID → fill in personal details, category (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/General), academic details, and parent/guardian income → upload Aadhaar, caste certificate, income certificate, and marksheet as PDFs.

Select and Apply for Scholarships

Browse eligible scholarships under "Apply for Scholarship" → the portal shows only the schemes you qualify for based on your profile → fill the specific scholarship form and submit. You can apply to multiple scholarships.

Institute Verification

Your college or school admin logs in to the NSP portal to verify your enrollment and academic details. Follow up with your institution's NSP nodal officer if verification is pending — applications not verified by the institute are automatically rejected.

Track Status and Receive Payment

Log in to scholarships.gov.in → "Check Your Status" → track approval from institute → district → state → ministry. Approved scholarships are paid directly to your Aadhaar-linked bank account via DBT. Check payment status at pfms.nic.in.
