How to Apply

Enroll via Net Banking or Mobile App
onlineLog in to your bank's net banking or mobile app → go to "Insurance" or "Jan Suraksha Schemes" → select PMSBY → confirm your savings account number and enter nominee details → submit consent. This takes less than 2 minutes.
Enroll via SMS Banking
onlineSome banks (like SBI) allow PMSBY enrollment via SMS. Send "PMSBY <Account Number>" to your bank's SMS banking number. Check your bank's website for the specific SMS format. ₹20 auto-deducted from your account on activation.
Keep Account Balance Sufficient
online / offlineEvery year on 1 June (or next business day), ₹20 is auto-deducted. If balance is insufficient, coverage lapses. No notifications are sent in most banks — ensure ₹20 is available in your account each June. Coverage is automatically renewed each year as long as the debit succeeds.
