Indian passport applications are handled entirely online through the Passport Seva Portal. You do not need an agent — the process is straightforward and takes 30–45 days for regular applications.
Step 1: Register on Passport Seva Portal
- 1Go to passportindia.gov.in
- 2Click "Register Now"
- 3Enter your email ID — this becomes your login ID
- 4Set a password and complete email verification
- 5Log in to your account
Step 2: Fill the Application Form
- 1Click "Apply for Fresh Passport" or "Re-issue of Passport"
- 2Choose Normal (₹1,500 — 30–45 days) or Tatkaal (₹3,500 — 3–7 days)
- 3Fill personal info, family details, present and permanent address
- 4Select your nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office PSK (POPSK)

Step 3: Pay & Book Appointment
- 1Click "Pay and Schedule Appointment" after form submission
- 2Pay via UPI / Debit Card / Net Banking
- 3Select appointment date and time at your PSK/POPSK
- 4Save the appointment confirmation (screenshot or printout)
Step 4: Visit PSK on Appointment Day
- 1Arrive 15–30 minutes before your appointment
- 2Carry all original documents + one set of photocopies
- 3Biometric and photo will be taken at the PSK
- 4Police verification is scheduled after your visit (if required)
