PAN card is mandatory for income tax filing, opening bank accounts, investing in mutual funds, and many financial transactions. You can get it in two ways: Instant e-PAN (free, 10 minutes) or Physical PAN card (₹107, 15–20 days).
Option 1: Instant e-PAN — Free & Fastest
If you have an Aadhaar card with an active mobile OTP, you can get a valid e-PAN in 10 minutes completely free.

Option 2: Physical PAN Card via NSDL (₹107)
- 1Go to onlineservices.nsdl.com
- 2Select "Application Type: Form 49A" (Indian citizens)
- 3Fill personal details: name, DOB, address, father's name
- 4Upload required documents (JPG format)
- 5Pay ₹107 online
- 6Note the 15-digit acknowledgment number — PAN arrives in 15–20 days

Correction / Reprint of Existing PAN
To correct name spelling, date of birth, or photo — visit NSDL, select "Changes or Corrections in PAN", enter your existing PAN number, and follow the same process. Fee: ₹107.
Having more than one PAN card is illegal and attracts a ₹10,000 penalty. If you accidentally have two PANs, surrender the extra one at your Income Tax office immediately.
